This is an excellent opportunity for coin enthusiasts, collectors, and dealers. In this collection you will find something for almost every collector of US coins. Whether you are looking for that elusive key date coin to finish your collection or you are just starting your collection, these auctions will have something for you.

Mr. Bennie Cupp began collecting coins in the early 1960's as a way to keep himself occupied while recovering from a bad accident.  He continued collecting after his recovery, and since then has amassed a significant collection of over 4,000 coins most of which are Post Colonial US coins.  After enjoying buying and collecting these coins over the years, Mr. Cupp believes that now is the time to enjoy passing these coins on to the next generation of coin collectors.

The cornerstone of this collection is a cent collection dating from 1793 to 2000 including rare key date coins like the 1793 Wreath and Chain Large Cents, 1856 Flying Eagle, 1909 S VDB and 1955 Double Die. Also in this collection are full sets of many popular coins including Morgan Dollars, Peace Dollars, Mercury Dimes, Buffalo Nickels, Wheat Pennies, Indian Head Small Cents and others including key dates and some other hard to find coins.

Most of these coins were collected in a time before third party grading services and none of them have been graded or certified.  All of these coins are being sold in the raw with all the single coins in a cardboard holder.

We have provided high resolution photos of the obverse and reverse of each coin and you are expected to make your own determination as to the condition of each coin. We are not making any condition certification or guarantees.  However we are guaranteeing authenticity.  If you purchase a coin and it is determined by a third party grading service to not be authentic we will refund your purchase price and the grading fee provided that you ship the coin back to us within 60 days of the end of the auction.

You are welcome to preview these coins in person. Mr. Cupp will be happy to show them to you and visit with you about these coins. We do not have a set preview time.  Preview will be by appointment only.  Call Linford @ 540-476-3309 or email linford@mountainvalleyauctions.com to schedule an appointment.

Shipping will be available at the buyers expense. You will be responsible for a packaging and handling fee of $5 for the first coin or individual lot and 25 cents each thereafter plus actual shipping charges from your preferred provider.  We will measure and weigh the package and get you a shipping quote. We recommend USPS Priority Mail and Registered Mail for higher dollar value coins.
